Welcoming Lieu. Gen. Kommasith on an official visit to Vietnam, Chinh affirmed that the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos is of great importance to each country’s national construction and defence.
He emphasized that Vietnam always remembers the support and assistance from Laos in the struggle for national defence and development and will continue to stand with Laos to overcome challenges and ensure sustainable development.
He acknowledged the comprehensive cooperation between the armed forces of both countries in recent years, particularly in areas such as sharing strategic issues, supporting each other in building defence posture and capabilities, training human resources, and effectively promoting exchange mechanisms.
Vietnam always supports and creates the most favourable conditions to enhance cooperation between the two armies, said the PM.

The PM particularly urged the two armies to promote exchanges of delegations, military interactions, and training of human resources. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in cybersecurity, logistics, and technical support, as well as reinforcing the peaceful and stable management of the Vietnam-Laos border for cooperation and development.
