PMs of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia meet to realize top leaders’ agreements
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone in Ho Chi Minh City on February 22 to concritise the agreements reached during the tripartite meeting on the same day between the leaders of the ruling parties of the three countries.

During the meeting, Chinh reviewed the achievements in implementing the conclusions of the high-level meetings between Vietnam and Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, along with recent visits by senior leaders of the three countries, noting that the assigned tasks have been effectively carried out.
The three Prime Ministers concurred that cooperation among the three countries has always been given top priority by their top leaders, governments, ministries, sectors, and localities, as well as significant progress made, contributing to strengthening and deepening trilateral cooperation.
The leaders emphasized the strategic importance of the close and enduring friendship, solidarity, and mutual trust between the three countries. They agreed to further promote youth and leadership training programs, and to widely disseminate information to the public, especially to younger generations, about the historical significance and value of the trilateral cooperation.
The three PMs reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination in ensuring national security and in building and developing their respective countries. They agreed to maintain regular high-level meetings and engagements across all channels, strengthen collaboration between localities, particularly those sharing borders, and promote people-to-people exchanges. The leaders also pledged to effectively implement cooperative mechanisms and agreements while increasing information sharing and policy coordination among ministries and agencies.
The leaders agreed to further strengthen the three countries’ cooperation in security and defense, closely coordinate in border security, and combate transnational crimes such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and money laundering. They reaffirmed their principle of not allowing any individual or force to use one country’s territory to undermine the security of another, thereby jointly working towards a peaceful, friendly, stable, and developing border region.
The three Prime Ministers also agreed to introduce policies and measures that facilitate and further promote trade and investment, particularly border trade, while maximizing the efficiency of land border crossings among the three countries. They underlined the need to enhance connectivity in transportation infrastructure and economic linkages.
The leaders welcomed and agreed to establish a trilateral cooperation mechanism among the Ministers of Culture and Tourism to unify a tourism cooperation plan among the three countries to deploy the model "One Journey, Three Destinations."
Discussing regional issues of mutual concern, they consented to work together to maintain ASEAN unity, uphold ASEAN's central role in regional matters, and further promote cooperation in the Mekong subregion.
