Party leader attends Jakarta concert marking 70 years of Vietnam – Indonesia diplomacy
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse attended a concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Indonesia at Ciputra Theater in Jakarta on March 9 evening, as part of his state visit to Indonesia.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son expressed his delight at the flourishing relationship between the two countries, saying since establishing the Strategic Partnership framework in 2013, bilateral ties have expanded beyond politics, diplomacy, and defense-security to include economics, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
He said he believes that, after 70 years of development, the deep historical ties and significant achievements between Vietnam and Indonesia will continue to thrive, meeting the aspirations of both countries’ peoples while contributing to regional and global peace, cooperation, and development.
The two sides will work closely together to elevate their Strategic Partnership to new heights, as agreed upon by their leaders, stressed the diplomat.
Son affirmed that General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to Indonesia will mark a milestone, opening a new chapter of cooperation that is more comprehensive, substantial, and beneficial to both countries.

For his part, Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadi Zon emphasized that since establishing diplomatic ties in 1955, Indonesia and Vietnam have stood side by side, fostering a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to cooperation—both bilaterally and within the ASEAN framework.
He stated that the concert symbolizes the beauty of cultural and musical exchanges between the two countries, and serves as an inspiration for future generations to continue strengthening the spirit of cooperation and friendship that has characterized the Vietnam–Indonesia relationship for the past 70 years.
Recognizing both countries’ significant contributions to ASEAN’s stability and economic prosperity, Zon expressed his belief that the younger generations of Indonesia and Vietnam would further develop the strong ties between the two countries.
During the concert, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra from the Vietnam National Academy of Music presented a classical symphony programme featuring top Vietnamese artists. They introduced Indonesian audiences to world-renowned classical compositions blended with distinctive sounds from traditional Vietnamese musical instruments. The performance also included folk melodies and well-known songs from both Vietnam and Indonesia.
