NA Vice chairman hails Vietnam – Denmark partnership
VOV.VN - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong lauded the positive development of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Denmark, during his reception in Hanoi on March 3 for Michael Aastrup Jensen, chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Danish Parliament.

Phuong reviewed major milestones in bilateral relations, saying the two countries established a Strategic Partnership in the fields of climate change, energy, environment, and green growth in 2011, a Comprehensive Partnership in 2013, and a Green Strategic Partnership in 2023.
Meanwhile, he emphasized that after nearly 40 years of implementing the Đổi Mới (Renovation) process, Vietnam has achieved significant, comprehensive, and historically meaningful results, with assistance from the international community, including Denmark.
To enter a new era of prosper development, he said, the country is implementing institutional reforms, restructuring its political system, and modernizing state management at all levels. At the same time, it is renewing traditional growth drivers and fostering new ones, with the ultimate goal of turning Vietnam into a developing, high middle income economy by 2030, and a developed, high income economy by 2045.
As the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries is developing across all fields, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly proposed that both sides continue to promote high-level exchanges and contacts through all channels to build political trust and create momentum for cooperation in various fields, such as green transformation, digital transformation, planning, and renewable energy development, alongside other parliamentary activities.
He also proposed that the Danish Parliament encourage the remaining nine EU member states to quickly ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
Jensen for his part informed his host of the results of his earlier talks with the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Defence, Security, and Foreign Affairs Committee, Le Tan Toi, as well as the functions and tasks of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Danish Parliament.
He acknowledged that although Vietnam and Denmark are geographically distant, both countries share common development goals, and they have the potential for cooperation in areas of mutual strength and considerable room for growth.
The Danish Parliament highly values cooperation with Vietnam and will work toward elevating their bilateral relationship to new heights, making it increasingly practical and effective, he said.
