VOV.VN - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man left Rabat on July 27, concluding their official visit to Morocco and beginning a working trip to Switzerland where they will also attend the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

Seeing off the delegation at Salé Airport were Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco Rachid Talbi Alami, House officials, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Morocco Le Kim Quy.
During the visit, Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with the House Speaker, and had meetings with Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and President of the House of Councillors Mohamed Ould Errachid.
At the meetings, Morocco’s senior leaders highly appreciated the significance of Chairman Man's visit, especially as the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2026. They emphasised that Vietnam–Morocco relations have consistently developed well in many areas, particularly in people-to-people exchanges.
Regarding economic and trade cooperation, both sides agreed that more efforts are needed to elevate bilateral economic and trade ties to match the strong political relationship. They agreed to promote two-way investment and serve as gateways for each other to expand cooperation with their respective regions.
On parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to closely coordinate at multilateral parliamentary forums, enhance exchanges among young and female parliamentarians, increase high-level delegation exchanges, promote dialogue, and share legislative experience.
They also consented to work on building legal frameworks in digital transformation, climate change response, and green economic development, and to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy to foster cooperation among ministries, sectors, and enterprises.
Chairman Man also attended a policy roundtable on legal frameworks to enhance Vietnam–Morocco cooperation; met with the President of the Morocco–Vietnam Friendship Association and the Chairwoman of the Morocco–Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group; and visited staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Morocco.
The official visit to Morocco by Chairman Tran Thanh Man was a great success, highlighting the vital role of parliamentary diplomacy in serving the practical interests of the people of both countries. It made a positive contribution to Vietnam–Morocco cooperation and to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world at large.
The visit also demonstrated the power and significance of South–South cooperation, reaffirming the solidarity and friendship among developing nations and contributing meaningfully to each country’s development process.
