Lao media highlight Vietnam Party chief’s state visit, hail closer ties
VOV.VN - State media in Laos have given extensive coverage to Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam’s state visit, describing it as a historic milestone that would help elevate Vietnam–Laos relations to a new strategic level.
News bulletins of Lao National Radio repeatedly reported on the visit on February 5, highlighting its significance in further nurturing the two countries’ great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.
Following the arrival of the Vietnamese delegation in Vientiane, Lao National Radio continued to run prominent stories on the visit, while the Lao News Agency published in-depth articles underscoring the special relationship between the two neighbours.
An article stressed the historic importance of the visit and reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching the highest priority to ties with Laos, while noting that bilateral relations are becoming increasingly close, effective and substantive.
The Vientiane Times also carried an article headlined “Party General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to Laos signals a new height in Laos–Vietnam relations,” describing the close-knit bond between the two countries as one “forged in history and enduring into the future.”
Vietnam and Laos share a special relationship, underpinned by close political coordination, deepening economic cooperation and extensive people-to-people exchanges.
Officials from the two countries have said the visit is expected to further strengthen political trust, expand practical cooperation across sectors and provide fresh momentum for advancing bilateral ties in the coming period.
