Party chief To Lam arrives in Phnom Penh for state visit to Cambodia
VOV.VN - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by Party General Secretary To Lam arrived at Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, on February 6, beginning his state visit to Cambodia.
Welcoming the Party leader and the delegation at the airport were Deputy Prime Ministers Kuy Sophal; Advisor to the King of Cambodia Chhea Horn; Minister of Tourism Hout Hak; and Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu, along with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy.
The visit takes place at a pivotal time as both countries are entering a new stage of development marked by intertwined opportunities and challenges. Building on recent cooperation achievements, the visit is expected to further strengthen and deepen bilateral linkages in economic, trade and investment cooperation, while fostering strategic interdependence in key areas such as trade, investment, supply chains, agriculture, processing and manufacturing industries, infrastructure, energy and transport.
The visit is also anticipated to help align high-level perceptions between the two Parties and the two States, define major orientations, and create an important political foundation for unlocking cooperation across multiple fields in a spirit of mutual understanding and trust, thereby promoting stable, sustainable and long-term development of Vietnam–Cambodia relations.
During his stay, Party General Secretary To Lam will co-chair a high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party, and a meeting among the leaders of the three ruling parties of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
