80th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Public Security marked in Laos
The representative office of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security in Laos has held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Public Security (August 19, 1945 – 2025) in Vientiane.

Speaking at the ceremony on the evening of August 13, Major General Huynh Tan Hanh, chief representative of the Vietnamese ministry in Laos, recalled that throughout the journey of national liberation and the path toward socialism in both countries, their public security forces have stood side by side in solidarity, supporting and assisting each other in safeguarding and building their nations.
He expressed his belief that in the time to come, the comprehensive cooperation between the two ministries of public security in all areas of work will continue to be a highlight and a pillar of the overall bilateral relationship, meeting the demands and tasks in the new situation, and jointly preserving and promoting the long-standing special bond of loyalty and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
General Vilay Lakhamphong, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security, expressed his deepest gratitude to the Party, Government, armed forces, and people of Vietnam for their consistent solidarity, close cooperation, and wholehearted support over the years.
He stressed that the Lao Party, Government, and public security force have always recognised that the achievements and victories of the force during the struggle for national liberation and in the current period of protecting and developing the country are closely linked to the solidarity and valuable assistance of its Vietnamese counterpart.
As part of the activities marking the 80th anniversary, the representative office also held a meeting with leaders and officers of the Lao public security force in Vientiane on the afternoon of August 14.
