May highlights at Park Hyatt Saigon
Two F&B outlets of the Park Hyatt Saigon – 2 Lam Son Bar and Opera Restaurant – have put on special programs this month.
To mark World Cocktail Day, there will be a “Buy One Get One Free” program at 8 pm on May 13 at 2 Lam Son Bar, featuring performances by talented bartenders, signature mixing drinks and a live performance by Japanese DJ Take.
The promotion is available for all cocktails, from the 2 Lam Son mojito to Mexican Lips and Rosemary Flames.
On May 13, 1803, The Balance and Columbian Repository, an upstate New York newspaper, published the first definition of the word “Cocktail” in response to a reader’s query, saying cocktail is stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters.
For more than one hundred years, May 13 has been chosen as World Cocktail Day to mark the first cocktail definition to be published. On this day, people celebrate and drink all kinds of cocktails.
Guests to the Opera Restaurant during this month should not miss a four-course dinner menu of Puglia, the southern region of Italy, prepared by chef Matteo. Puglia is an ideal place to grow fruits and vegetables.
The region has more than 60 million olive trees and produces around 23% of Europe’s olive oil. Puglia is also considered a cheese haven, as there are a number of excellent cheeses from the region.
The dinner will begin with an oozy burrata tartare, grilled prawns and cold cherry-tomato soup. It is followed by authentic Puglian orecchiette prepared with broccoli cream, anchovies and burrata.
Next, cheese lovers will delight in savoring sea bass grilled with burrata cream and crispy eggplant. And finally, to finish, diners will be presented with delectable chocolate mousse, a bite of burrata ice cream and chilled hazelnut soup.
