Saigon’s top 10 tourist attractions

Thong Nhat (Reunification) Palace and Cu Chi Tunnels were among the top 10 attractive destinations of HCM City in 2015, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

1. Suoi Tien Park covers an area of 55 hectares, with about 150 entertainment works for visitors of all ages. Annually, this park welcomes about 4.5 million tourists.

2. Dam Sen Cultural Park is located on Hoa Binh Street, District 11. The park covers an area of 50 hectares, including 20% of lakes and 60% of trees and flower gardens. The park offers about 80 games for visitors of all ages.

3. The Saigon Zoo is more than 150 years old. It has more than 2,500 trees belonging to 360 species, more than 1,000 animals and many cultural - historical valuable artifacts.
4. Cu Chi Tunnels is about 70 km to Ho Chi Minh City center the northwest. This is a unique work with a system of tunnels deep underground of more than 200 km long.
5. Reunification Palace was built on an area of 12 hectares. The work consists of a large mansion with a facade measuring 80 meters and a spacious campus with many trees and grass covers.
6. Ben Thanh Market is one of the symbols of HCM City. Initially, the market was built of brick, wood, and thatch. In 1860, the French rebuilt it. In July 1870, the market was on fire and it was rebuilt again.
7. Sky Deck is located on the height of 180 m, where visitors can enjoy the beauty of the "Pearl of the Far East".
8. The Museum of War Remnants is located on Vo Van Tan Street, District 3. The museum showcases many artifacts of the Vietnam War. The most fascinating items are a guillotine and two "tiger cages" of the Con Dao prison.
9. Ho Chi Minh City Museum is located at 65 Ly Tu Trong, District 1. The building was built on an area of almost 2 hectares and is bordered by the roads of Ly Tu Trong, Pasteur, Le Thanh Tong and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia. The building is designed in classic - Renaissance, European – Asian style. It showcases cultural, historical, trade and craft items of HCM City..
10. Ho Chi Minh Museum was initially a commercial port that was built in 1864 in the region close to the Khanh Hoi Bridge in District 4. On June 5, 1911, the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh went aboard the Amiral Latouche Treville ship as a cook helper to be able to go to Europe to seek a way to save the country. In 1975 the old headquarters building of Nha Rong port became the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
