Vietship 2018 to showcase advanced shipbuilding technologies
VOV.VN - As many as 59 domestic and 38 foreign businesses are set to participate in the 9th international trade fair for shipbuilding, marine technology, and transportation (Vietship 2018) slated for January 24-26 at the Hanoi National Convention Centre.
The announcement was made at a press conference on January 4 hosted by the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC).
At the biennial event, 163 pavilions will display shipbuilding and ship repair technologies, shipyard and offshore facilities, equipment and materials for shipbuilding, and maritime transport and port services. Other services in the fields of design, financial insurance, training, construction, and logistics will be also introduced.
Ngo Tung Lam, SBIC deputy general director said that the maritime transport market in 2018 would bid fair to grow further, opening up a brighter future for this potential market.
Pursuant to maritime international conventions this year, the shipbuilding industry’s major focus will be on safety improvement and using environmentally friendly renewable energy, thereby demanding increased investment, enhanced capabilities and ensured technical standards of shipping fleets, he added.
