Vietnam OCOP Festival 2025 to take place in Hanoi
VOV.VN - A national festival promoting One Commune-One Product (OCOP) is scheduled to take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi from December 20 to 23, to foster rural economic development and global integration.
The event, jointly organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Hanoi People’s Committee, reflects strong coordination between central and local authorities in advancing the OCOP Programme nationwide.
After more than seven years of implementation, the OCOP Programme has firmly established itself as a key driver of rural economic development, unlocking local advantages and contributing to Vietnam’s development aspirations amid deepening international integration.
Aiming to honour OCOP achievements linked to digital transformation and green transition, the festival will recognise outstanding OCOP stakeholders while providing strategic direction for future product development toward higher quality, sustainability, and stronger competitiveness.
Under the overarching theme Unlocking Potential – Connecting Values – Sustainable Development, the event promotes production–trade linkages among domestic and international localities, strengthens value-chain connectivity, and encourages innovation in product design, packaging, and market access.
To date, Vietnam has developed 18,243 OCOP products rated three stars or higher, forming a standardised quality system and gradually reinforcing the Vietnam National Brand. The socio-economic impact of the OCOP Programme has become increasingly evident, with 60.7% of OCOP entities rated three stars or above recording average annual revenue growth of 17.6%.
The programme has contributed to building a multi-value rural economic ecosystem. Notably, OCOP has created sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable groups, with women accounting for 40% of OCOP entities and ethnic minorities nearly 20%. Many OCOP products have been exported to more than 60 countries, affirming the growing international standing of Vietnamese agricultural products.
The festival also highlights Hanoi’s leading role as the locality with the largest number of OCOP products nationwide, totaling 3,463 rated three stars or higher. The capital continues to serve as a hub of excellence and a strategic gateway connecting Vietnamese OCOP products to global markets.
A wide range of activities will take place during the festival, including the opening ceremony, special art performances, ceremonies honouring outstanding national OCOP entities, an OCOP forum, an OCOP exhibition, and the Vietnam OCOP Livestream Day on digital platforms.
A highlight of the festival will be the introduction of a more than 300-meter-long oil painting titled “Vietnam – Land and People,” recognised as the longest three-region landscape painting in Vietnam, symbolising the spirit of new rural development and the OCOP movement.
