Vietnam-Cambodia border OCOP trade fair boosts cross-border trade
VOV.VN - The Vietnam-Cambodia Border OCOP Trade Fair in An Giang province brings together 80 enterprises from both countries, featuring top-rated OCOP products and regional specialties while creating new opportunities for cross-border trade.
On the evening of December 10, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the An Giang provincial People's Committee, officially opened the Vietnam-Cambodia Border OCOP Trade Fair at Xuan To Industrial Park, Tinh Bien ward, southern An Giang province.
The fair features more than 200 booths from 80 Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses, showcasing thousands of regional specialty products, OCOP items, consumer goods, handicrafts, and high-quality agricultural produce to visitors in An Giang’s border area.
This year, Vietnamese enterprises highlight OCOP products rated three stars and above, along with leading brands aiming to expand exports to Cambodia.
Opening the fair, Le Trung Ho, Vice Chairman of the An Giang People’s Committee, emphasized that bilateral economic relations have seen remarkable growth, with trade turnover more than tripling from around US$3.3 billion in 2015 to over US$10 billion in 2024.
“Border trade has always been the lifeblood of the economy,” Ho said, noting that trade ties between An Giang and Cambodian provinces have strengthened in recent years. As of September 2025, total import-export turnover between An Giang and Cambodia reached US$940 million, including US$531 million in exports and US$409 million in imports.
Ho affirmed that the fair provides an opportunity for Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses to meet, network, and promote specialty products to both domestic and international visitors. The event also serves as a bridge for trade, helping companies find partners, expand distribution networks, and access the dynamic border market.
The event rún from December 10 to 16, contributing to economic linkage and enhancing trade and cooperation between the two countries.
