Hanoi: over 3,290 new businesses established in first two months
VOV.VN - A total of 3,294 new businesses with a combined registered capital of VND 20.8 trillion were set up in the capital during the first two months of 2025, according to the Hanoi Statistics Office

The number of newly established enterprises dropped by 18% in volume and 50.3% in registered capital compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, 3,166 businesses resumed operations, marking a 3.9% increase year-on-year. However, 13,600 businesses temporarily suspended operations, up 20.2%, while 977 businesses were dissolved, a rise of 29% from the same period in 2024.
During the same period, Hanoi attracted over US$1.101 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), up 2% year-on-year. This included 51 newly registered projects with a total capital of US$20.1 million, 24 projects receiving additional investment worth US$1.038 billion, and 52 foreign investors contributing capital or acquiring shares, amounting to US$42.7 million.
