Newly-established businesses drop over 30% in January
VOV.VN - As many as 10,653 enterprises were newly established in January with total registered capital of VND94 trillion, representing respective decreases of 30.28% and 39.32% over the same period from last year.
Data from the Business Registration Management Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment shows that the number of registered employees in these new businesses was 81,539, down 22.28% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, 22,794 enterprises resumed operations, surpassing the previous record of 19,121 businesses in January 2022.
In total, 33,447 enterprises joined or re-entered the market in January, pouring VND461.301 trillion into the economy, a 55% increase from a year earlier.
Elsewhere, 58,321 enterprises withdrew from the market last month, 1.74 times higher than the number of those joining or rejoining the market. Most of these enterprises opted for short-term business suspension, accounting for 90.5%.
The number of enterprises waiting for dissolution procedures in January was 3,493, with the majority being small-scale enterprises with capital below VND10 billion.
