Gold ring price climbs to new historic peak
VOV.VN - Domestic gold prices continued to experience a sharp increase on February 19, with gold ring prices reaching their highest historic peak at VND92 million per tael.
At 9:00 a.m., the price of gold rings was quoted at between VND90.5 million and VND92 million per tael by Doji, marking an increase of VND1 million per tael compared to early in the morning.
This represents the most expensive price in history, breaking the record of VND91.7 million per tael previously set on February 11.
At Sai Gon Jewellery Company (SJC), gold rings were traded at between VND89.7 million and VND 91.8 million per tael, marking an increase of VND700,000 for both buying and selling prices.
Meanwhile, gold bullion at Doji and SJC were listed at between VND89.7 billion and VND92 million per tael, up VND1.1 million per tael for the buying price and VND900,000 per tael for the selling price.
According to experts, a sharp rise in domestic gold prices can be attributed to an upturn in global trends. At 9:00 a.m., the global gold price was listed at US$2,938 per ounce, recording the highest in history.
Gold prices have rebounded as investors continue to flock to gold bullion to seek a safe haven amid rising concern about economic growth following the announcement of US President Donald Trump's tariff plan.
