Tan Son Nhat Airport welcomes record number of flights
VOV.VN - Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City set a record for the highest number of flights on January 23, the 24th day of the last lunar month, with a total of 1,000 flights either departing or arriving.
Figures show that the airport received over 138,000 passengers passing through, including 92,000 departing passengers.
With the Lunar New Year just around the corner, Vietnamese people will have nine days off work starting from January 25, with the holiday season expected to fuel high travel demand among those who wish to return home for family reunions.
Tan Son Nhat airport is anticipated to handle approximately 26,000 flights with around four million passengers in the peak period lasting between January 14 and February 12.
It is estimated to serve 800 flights per day, up 6% in comparison with the previous Tet.
