Da Nang steps up global startup push with Dubai partners
VOV.VN - Da Nang is accelerating its ambition to become a regional innovation hub, deepening ties with partners from Dubai and global investors as part of a broader strategy to position the city at the forefront of digital and emerging technologies.
The Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Centre, under the municipal Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with Aeternum Consulting Ltd., hosted a working session with Dubai-based partners and international investors on February 25. The meeting follows a recent working visit by Da Nang officials to Dubai aimed at expanding cross-border cooperation within the innovation ecosystem.
City officials framed the outreach as a long-term strategic direction, particularly toward financial and innovation centres in the Middle East.
According to Le Son Phong, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, establishing and expanding partnerships with Dubai is viewed as a sustainable pathway to attract high-quality investment and enhance technology transfer.
Da Nang is prioritising sectors such as high technology, digital finance, blockchain, artificial intelligence and emerging economic models aligned with its vision of green, smart and sustainable growth.
A key highlight of the programme was the introduction of the Unchained Summit – Vietnam Edition, an international ticketed event focused on digital assets, blockchain, fintech, artificial intelligence and next-generation technologies. The summit is scheduled to take place on May 28–29 at Furama Resort Danang.
Organisers said the event aims to contribute to positioning Da Nang as a regional centre for innovation, investment attraction and digital economy development. The summit is expected to feature startup pitching sessions, one-on-one investor matchmaking, thematic forums, technology exhibitions and networking activities within the innovation community.
During the working session, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Centre and Aeternum Consulting signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in innovation, digital assets and emerging technologies. The document reflects a shared commitment to promoting international collaboration and supporting sustainable development of the city’s innovation ecosystem.
The engagement with Dubai partners signals Da Nang’s resolve to integrate more deeply into regional and global innovation networks, reinforcing science, technology and digital transformation as key growth drivers in its next development phase.
