Vietnamese team wins third prize at global final of Huawei ICT Competition
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese team performed excellently to bag the third prize in the cloud category of the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 global final held in Shenzhen of China after competing against 146 teams from 36 countries around the globe.
This comes after the team surpassed more than 120,000 students from more than 2,000 universities in 74 countries and territories around the world to secure places in the final round.
The Vietnamese team consists of three students, including Nguyen Quoc Hung of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), as well as Tran Duc Lam and Vu Quang Hai from FPT University.
Upon addressing the award ceremony, Nguyen Minh Hong, chairman of Vietnam Digital Communications Association, emphasised that Huawei ICT Competition is a practical and useful playground to find and honour young ICT talents, as well as helping them to connect with businesses through Huawei's ICT Talent Bridge programme.
Hong expressed a desire to see the contest organised in Vietnam ahead in the coming years to help students gain access and improve their knowledge of ICT.
Sharing this viewpoint, Tran Tien Cong, a lecturer at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), pointed out that the contest has encouraged young talents and promote the development of advanced technology solutions, thereby contributing to offsetting human resources for the Industry 4.0 era.
The annual Huawei ICT Competition was held for the first time back in 2015, with the event so far attracting more than 580,000 students from 85 countries and regions.
