AI emerges as new competitive edge for logistics businesses

VOV.VN - Artificial intelligence is becoming a new competitive edge for logistics businesses, speakers said at the VALOMA LogTech Forum 2026 held in Hanoi on May 9.

The forum, themed “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of the Logistics Industry: From Global Trends to Vietnam’s Choices,” was organized by the Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association (VALOMA).

Opening the forum, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Chairman of VALOMA, emphasized that AI was becoming a core factor shaping the future of the logistics sector.

“AI is no longer a concept of the future. It is already present in logistics activities every day, from transport optimization and warehouse management to real-time supply chain data analysis,” he noted.

Chuong also stressed that the real value of technology lies not in flashy features but in its ability to solve practical business problems. Businesses capable of effectively applying AI, he added, would gain a significant competitive advantage in the coming period.

Phan Duc Hieu member of the National Assembly’s Economic Committee noted that the forum reflected positive progress in the application of AI technology in logistics activities, particularly among large enterprises.

“The discussions today show the effectiveness and inevitable trend of applying AI technology in logistics operations,” Hieu said. “They also highlight the need to consider policies supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in applying science, technology and AI to optimize operations and improve business efficiency in the future.”

Beyond professional discussions, the forum also served as a platform for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-school (B2S) connections between enterprises and training institutions, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the logistics sector.

Organizers expect participation and experience-sharing from businesses to bring practical value and help promote innovation across the industry.
