Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on September 2 offered incense to commemorate late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

The 70th National Day was marked with a grand meeting and the largest-ever parade in the country at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi September 2 morning. 

(VOV) - President Ho Chi Minh read the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, to inform the world of the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first worker-peasant state in Southeast Asia. 

(VOV) - September 2, 1945, marked the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. That day opened a new era of national independence and socialism in Vietnam’s history.

An exhibition to showcase the nation's socio-economic achievements, one of the largest celebrations to mark the 70th year since Vietnam gained independence, was opened in Hanoi on August 28.

The High Command of the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) was bestowed the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces in the Reform Period” at a ceremony marking its 17th founding anniversary in Hanoi on August 28.
