VOV.VN - Forty-seven photographs winning the 13th International Photo Contest 2025 (VN-25) were honoured at an awards ceremony held at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi on December 5.
The event, organised by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), coincides with VAPA’s 60th anniversary (December 8, 1965-December 8, 2025).
Under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), this year’s competition invited submissions in four categories: Open Colour, Open Monochrome, World in Focus and Portrait.
Addressing the awards ceremony, Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of VAPA stressed that the contest has become a prestigious forum for global photographers, with the 2025 edition attracting 13,236 entries from 1,054 photographers across 31 countries and territories, an increase of nearly 30% compared with the 2025 event.
Entries were highly appreciated for their artistic and technical quality, demonstrating the diversity in creative thinking of photographers from many cultures in the globe.
A jury of experts from Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Spain and Indonesia selected 663 works by 383 photographers from 22 countries and territories for the final round. In total, 47 awards were presented to photographers from Croatia, Taiwan (China), Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye and Vietnam.
Notably, Dutch photographer Marcel Van Balken won the FIAP Blue Ribbon as the most-awarded entrant, collecting 10 honours including one gold medal, one silver medal, one bronze medal, one honourable mention and six works selected for exhibition.
An exhibition to display 47 winning photos began on December 5 and it will last through to December 9.
