Wide range of events for Vietnam Poetry Day
VOV.VN - A range of activities such as poetry recital contests and art performances are being held at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi within the framework of the 16th Vietnam Poetry Day.
The 16th Vietnam Poetry Day on the theme of “Literature accompanying the nation,” will officially open on March 2 (the fifteenth day of the first lunar month) at Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, the first university of Vietnam. |
The main symbol for the Day of poetry is a red sail. |
There is a photo exhibition featuring Vietnamese writers who took part in the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1968. |
A large number of poetry clubs gathered at the event to take part in poetry recital contests and give art performances. |
Around 58 poetry recitals and art performances were presented on March 1, recalling the country’s glorious history and process of national construction and defence, while praising the Communist Party of Vietnam and late President Ho Chi Minh. |
The Vietnam Poetry Day is a popular annual cultural event for poetry lovers. |
This the first year that the Vietnam Writers’ Association has worked with the Hanoi Writers’ Association to hold two poetry spaces: one for traditional poetry and one for modern poems. |
This year’s event welcomes four outstanding poets from Japan’s poets association to take part in an exchange with Vietnamese poetry lovers. |
The organizing board chose 50 lines of verse, representing different generations, to release at the poetry release festival. |
