Vietnam to host Miss World 2026 for the first time
VOV.VN - Vietnam will host the 2026 edition of Miss World, marking the first time the country serves as the official venue for one of the world’s longest-running and most prestigious beauty pageants.
The announcement was confirmed on March 25 via official channels of the Miss World Organisation. The upcoming event will also commemorate the 75th anniversary of the global pageant, adding further significance to Vietnam’s hosting role.
According to the organisers, the event is expected to bring together between 100 and 130 contestants from across the globe. More than a beauty competition, Miss World 2026 is positioned as a large-scale cultural and promotional platform aimed at showcasing Vietnam’s heritage, people, and tourism potential to an international audience.
In promotional materials, Vietnam is described as a land of heritage, beauty and aspiration, with the competition set to feature a variety of activities including fashion showcases, sports challenges, talent performances, and community-driven projects.
Julia Morley, Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, is expected to visit Vietnam alongside reigning Miss World Opal Suchata of Thailand to make an official announcement at the Miss World Vietnam national final scheduled for March 29.
Sen Vang Company (Golden Lotus Entertainment), the local rights holder of the Miss World franchise, has been appointed as the official organiser of the global event. Further details, including the timeline and key venues, are expected to be announced in the coming period.
Vietnam’s representative to the competition will be Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, winner of Miss Intercontinental 2022 and first runner-up at Miss World Vietnam 2022.
Standing at 1.86 meters, Bao Ngoc is regarded as a strong contender thanks to her international experience, academic achievements, and active involvement in community initiatives. She holds an IELTS score of 8.0 and graduated with honours in Business Administration.
Hosting Miss World 2026 is widely seen as a milestone for Vietnam’s beauty and event industries. It presents a valuable opportunity to strengthen the country’s position on the global events map while boosting tourism, cultural promotion, and the development of creative industries.
With preparations underway, anticipation is building among local and international audiences for a landmark edition of Miss World that reflects Vietnam’s identity and global aspirations.
