Tran Thanh may star in a Korean feature film
VOV.VN - Korean media outlets have recently reported that Vietnamese entertainer Tran Thanh is set to join the Korean feature film Kalg, Godumakhanui Geom, alongside well-known actor Park Bo-gum.
According to some sources, Korean actor Cha Seung-won will no longer appear in the project as initially planned. The change is believed to stem from delays in the film’s production schedule, prompting Cha Seung-won to decline the offer. His role is reportedly being taken over by Tran Thanh.
Kalg, Godumakhanui Geom is the latest project by director Kim Han-min, known for historical blockbuster films such as The Admiral: Roaring Currents, Noryang: Deadly Sea, and Hansan: Rising Dragon. The project attracted significant attention last year when it announced a cast including Cha Seung-won and Park Bo-gum.
The news of Tran Thanh’s alleged involvement has quickly sparked widespread interest among Vietnamese and Korean netizens alike, with many expressing curiosity about the TV host-turned-actor’s performance. However, neither Tran Thanh nor the film’s producers have issued an official confirmation to date.
In addition to Park Bo-gum, actor Joo Won is also rumoured to be considering an offer to join the film. Cha Seung-won recently appeared on the tvN variety show Chaga, which aired its first episode on January 8, 2026. Meanwhile, Tran Thanh is currently busy with his upcoming film project Tho Oi, slated for release during the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday in 2026.
