Korean star Jung Il-woo to visit Vietnam for film promotion
VOV.VN - Korean actor Jung Il-woo has confirmed that he will take part in a promotional campaign for the film Mang mẹ đi bỏ (Leaving Mom) in Vietnam at the end of July.

According to the film’s producers, Jung is scheduled to attend the premiere of the film and then participate in promotional activities around Vietnam, including a cinema tour with audience interactions at theaters and a fan meeting event.
In the film, Jung plays Jeong-min, a gentle, kind-hearted Korean husband who deeply loves his wife. Starring opposite him is actress Juliet Bao Ngoc, who plays the younger version of the character Le Thi Hanh.
With his rich acting experience and handsome appearance, Jung Il-woo returns to his iconic "first love" image—a youthful, sweet character paired with a Vietnamese girl. This type of role is one of his specialties, having contributed to his reputation in numerous romantic dramas such as Unstoppable High Kick!, 49 Days, Moon Embracing the Sun, and Cinderella and the Four Knights.
“We learned that the sitcom Unstoppable High Kick! was extremely popular in Vietnam, which sparked Jung’s growing interest in the Vietnamese market and audience. When we approached him with the film offer, he gladly accepted," said producer Kim Dae-kuen, recalling the casting process.
"Mang mẹ đi bỏ" is a Vietnam–Korea co-production directed by Mo Hong-jin. The film features a cast including Hong Dao, Tuan Tran, Juliet Bao Ngoc, Jung Il-woo, Quoc Khanh, Hai Trieu, Lam Vy Da, and Vinh Rau.
The film portrays the emotional journey of a son caring for his mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Through the mother-son relationship, it delivers a powerful message about the value of family, while also exploring themes of friendship, love, and human compassion in times of hardship.
The film will be released in cinemas on August 1.
