Traditional Japanese band AKATSUKI to hold concert in Hue

VOV.VN - AKATSUKI, an ensemble of four top Japanese musicians, will put on a concert on March 8 in Hue city for the first time, to introduce traditional music of Japan to local people.

The concert will be held at the Song Huong Theatre in Hue and is expected to bridge Asian cultures through the elegant sounds of koto, shakuhachi, and Wadaiko drums.

The band consists of four members - Nobutaka Yoshizawa and Nobuhiro Kaneko, both of whom play the Koto, a Japanese plucked half-tube zither instrument.

Shakuhachi player Junya Okochi will bring the melody of meditative bamboo flute once played by Zen monks to the concert.

Furthermore, the audience will also be able to enjoy the rhythmic heart of Japanese festivals and ceremonies through the Wadaiko drum performance by Yuta Kanazashi.

AKATSUKI will also hold mini concerts in four schools in Hue this March in the hope of inspiring young audiences to explore the beauty of Japanese performing arts.
