Russian folk choir from Omsk performs in Ho Chi Minh City

VOV.VN - The State Academic Omsk Russian Folk Choir performed the programme “Siberia’s Heirs” in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of March 25, combining music, vocal art and folk dance characteristic of the Siberian region.

The event was among highlights of the “Days of Russian Culture in Vietnam” 2026, jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.

“Siberia’s Heirs” brought together music, vocal performance and folk choreography rooted in Siberian traditions.

The programme opened with narration carrying an epic tone, with the stage recreating a vast and majestic Siberia, seen as a symbol of Russia’s strength, cultural depth and spirit.

A series of performances followed, including a male choir opening with “The Blacksmith’s Song”, combined with softer female choir pieces such as “The Lace-Making Girls” and “By the Rapid River”.

Interwoven with choral sections were folk dance and ballet performances, creating a performance space rich in Russian cultural colours. The well-prepared and expressive acts received long and enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The programme went beyond a performance, conveying a message on the historical responsibility of today’s generation. Preserving valuable cultural heritage is no longer a choice but a vital mission. This is not just a story of Russia but a shared reminder for all nations to preserve and promote their cultural heritage.

Closing the evening, “Siberia’s Heirs” left an impression of a high-quality artistic programme, creating a meaningful space for cultural exchange. Amid ongoing global integration, the programme reaffirmed the role of culture as a sustainable bridge connecting people across geographical distances and language differences.
