The announcement followed a hosting agreement signed between Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organization Julia Morley and the Tanzanian government, marking a rare occasion for the East African nation to stage a major international beauty pageant.

The news has attracted attention from international pageant followers, particularly in Vietnam, where Phan Phuong Oanh has been confirmed as the country’s contestant.

She is focusing on physical training, stage presence and performance skills, while also preparing for segments requiring depth, especially the “Beauty With a Purpose” project, a core element of Miss World.

“Beauty With a Purpose” emphasises social responsibility and contestants’ contributions to the community.  Oanh said she recognises its importance and is developing a long-term project focusing on practical social issues.

Although details have not been disclosed, she said the project will support vulnerable groups and aim to create sustainable value rather than short-term activities.

Phan Phuong Oanh will use the entire VND300 million in prize money from her title for community projects.
