Photo exhibition highlights youth spirit in Vietnam’s maritime frontiers
VOV.VN - A photo exhibition showcasing the vitality and resilience of young people in Vietnam’s maritime regions has opened in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring 114 works that capture life and service in the country’s island and offshore areas.
Organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association, the exhibition titled “Youth in Vietnam’s Seas and Islands” presents works by four photographers Le Nguyen, Le Khai Nhan, Nguyen Dinh Quang and Nguyen Thanh Phong.
The exhibition coincides with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931–2026).
The photographs were taken during field trips to Vietnam’s maritime regions in January and February 2026, including visits during the Lunar New Year period.
The collection documents journeys to the Spratly Islands, offshore DK1 platforms, and islands such as Ly Son Island, Con Co Island, Phu Quoc and Tho Chu.
Through vivid imagery, the exhibition portrays daily life on remote islands and offshore platforms, as well as moments of solidarity between mainland visitors and stationed forces. It also highlights the dedication and resilience of soldiers, sailors and working personnel serving in challenging maritime conditions.
According to Doan Hoai Trung, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association, the exhibition offers viewers insight into the hardships faced by those stationed at sea, while fostering a deeper sense of patriotism, particularly among younger generations.
Photographer Nguyen Dinh Quang said the collection aims to inspire love for the country and encourage youth engagement with Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty and national responsibility.
The exhibition runs from March 26 to April 10 at the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association.
