The announcement of Nhu Van as the nation’s representative was made at a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on February 16.

At the event, the beauty unveiled an outfit which she will wear in the national costume competition of the Miss Global pageant. The outfit draws inspiration from the culture of ethnic people hailing from the northwestern region.

Van shared that through the pageant she hopes to promote the beauty of Vietnamese people and landscape to the world. Hailing from Da Lat city, 34-year-old Nhu Van was the first runner-up in The New Mentor reality television series back in 2023.

She has experience working as a coach in several reality television shows, including The Next Gentleman 2024.

The Miss Global pageant was first held back in 2013 and is the only pageant in the world with the widest age ranging from 18 to 35 years old.

Vietnam has previously sent several beauties to compete in the beauty contests. Most recently, Doan Thu Thuy won the fourth runner-up title at Miss Global 2023.

Local model to represent Vietnam at Miss Global 2024
