She brought more than 100 kg of luggage to the international competition, including 30 outfits from famous designers. Duy also prepared special Vietnamese gifts to international friends.

Duy is set to present an outfit titled “Cửu Long Ẩn Vân” (Nine Dragons Rollick in Clouds) at the national costume segment, introducing Vietnamese mural art to a global audience.

For the talent segment, she will perform the song “Proud of You” incorporating silk fan dance elements.

The competition will feature around 82 contestants traveling across Japan, participating in charity events, cultural exchanges, and various sub-contests.

Ahead of the pageant, Missosology, an online beauty pageant magazine, ranked Kieu Duy 5th among pre-arrival hot picks, with Myanmar, the Czech Republic, Angola, and Mexico rounding out the top five.

First held in 1960, Miss International is one of the four major global beauty pageants alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. This year marks its 63rd edition.

Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy, 22, won the Miss Vietnam National 2024 title. She previously held the crowns of Miss Tay Do Beauty 2023 and Miss FPT Can Tho. Standing 1.69m tall with measurements of 88-63-90cm, she is set to follow in the footsteps of Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, who secured the Miss International title in November 2024.
