Mural heritage of Hue highlighted through Duy’s national costume at Miss International
VOV.VN - Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy, winner of Miss Vietnam National 2024, will present a national costume titled “Cửu Long Ẩn Vân” (Nine Dragons Rollick in Clouds) at the national costume segment of Miss International 2025, introducing Vietnamese mural art to a global audience.
The send-off ceremony for Duy took place in Ho Chi Minh City on November 4.
The costume draws inspiration from the ceiling mural in the main hall of Dieu De Pagoda in Hue during the reign of King Khai Dinh (1916–1925). Designed by Nguyen Song Huy, Cửu Long Ẩn Vân features nine dragons among clouds, symbolizing power and prosperity. The design won the top prize in the national costume competition at Miss Vietnam National 2024.
At the event, Duy also presented a video highlighting destinations in Ho Chi Minh City, conveying an image of a dynamic and modern Vietnam. She expressed pride in representing the country and pledged to promote a positive image of Vietnam to international audiences.
Duy shared that she will carry out a charity project aligned with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, focusing on providing medicine and essential supplies to disadvantaged communities.
For the talent segment, she will perform the song “Proud of You” and incorporate silk fan dance elements.
First held in 1960, Miss International is one of the four major global beauty pageants alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. The grand finale of this year’s edition is scheduled to take place in Japan on November 27.
