Intervision 2025 winner Duc Phuc receives PM honour
VOV.VN - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong on September 26 presented the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit to singer Nguyen Duc Phuc who triumphed at the Intervision International Music Contest 2025, recently held in Moscow, Russia.
On September 20, at the contest’s final round, Duc Phuc captivated both the audience and the jury with a heartfelt performance of the song Phu Dong Thien Vuong. The song, composed by musician Ho Hoai Anh and inspired by the poem Vietnamese Bamboo by poet Nguyen Duy, conveys a message about the latent strength and resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people.
Duc Phuc’s performance, which combined folk elements with modern rap, left a strong impression on the judges and international audience. He scored 422 points, the highest score in Intervision’s history, surpassing Nomad Trio (Kyrgyzstan) with 373 points and singer Dana Al Meer (Qatar) with 369 points. His victory came with a prize of 30 million rubles (about US$360,000, the largest reward ever granted in the contest’s history.
His victory not only brings pride to himself as an artist but also reaffirms the position, creativity, and spirit of integration of Vietnamese music on the international stage.
Immediately after hearing the news of his victory, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory letter praising the singer’s dedication and achievement. The PM affirmed that Duc Phuc’s victory is not only an honour for him personally but also a source of pride for Vietnam’s contemporary music and culture.
He expressed his hope that this accomplishment would serve as motivation for the young singer in particular, and Vietnamese artists in general, to continue innovating, promoting Vietnamese culture to the world, and inspiring younger generations to contribute more to the community.
The triumph at Intervision 2025 is also especially meaningful as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of Duc Phuc’s victory at The Voice Vietnam 2015. From a singer who first rose to fame on a television talent show, Duc Phuc has persevered through a decade of dedication and effort, culminating in international success.
