HCM City: Cultural events to celebrate VN-Thailand ties

A series of cultural exchange events took place at Ho Chi Minh City Youth Culture House on August 14 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Vietnam – Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976).

The events were co-organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Organisation in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting the two countries’ students and business communities.

A photo exhibition was held to tell the history of the Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic ties and depict the beauty of Thai people and landscapes.

A concert also took place with a number of unique folk performances of the two nations alongside a fashion show of Thai costumes and Thai cuisine and tourism promotional events.

The events aimed to strengthen the mutual understanding and solidarity between the two peoples, President of the Vietnam – Thailand Friendship Organisation Truong Hoang said.

Bilateral relations have been growing strong in all fields and Vietnam regards Thailand as a crucial strategic partner in the region, he noted, adding that Vietnam wants to intensify the comprehensive cooperation with its ASEAN peer.
