Hanoi to stage two special art programmes for Liberation Day anniversary
VOV.VN - Hanoi will stage two special art programmes on October 9 and 10 to mark the 72nd anniversary of Liberation Day, with the “Hanoi Symphony” tracing the capital’s journey from its historical roots to its present-day aspirations.
Under the plan, an art programme for the public will be held on October 9 on a ticketed basis and is expected to welcome around 800 spectators.
The programme will be organised by the Sun Symphony Orchestra, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
On October 10, the anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi, the special art programme “Hanoi Symphony” is expected to attract around 700-800 invited guests.
The programme’s highlight is its three-part structure, designed as a continuous artistic journey through Hanoi’s history, culture and contemporary development.
Part I, “The Spirit of Thang Long”, evokes the historical depth, spirit and character of the capital, a thousand-year-old centre of culture. Within this narrative, the autumn of 1954 serves as a key milestone, associated with October 10, 1954, when Hanoi was liberated, opening a new chapter in the capital’s history.
From that historic milestone, Hanoi has spent more than seven decades building, safeguarding and developing the city, gradually transforming its appearance while preserving cultural values passed down through generations.
If the first part begins with the capital’s historical depth, Part II, “Love for Hanoi”, brings the emotional thread back to the city’s familiar values. Hanoi is portrayed through its culture, people, memories and sentiments that have become part of the capital’s identity.
Continuing this journey, Part III, “The Spring of the Century”, turns to Hanoi today and its aspirations for the road ahead.
From the city that witnessed the historic autumn of 1954, Hanoi is continuing to modernise and develop, looking towards a new appearance in a new era of development.
The three-part structure creates a continuous thread from the past to the present and future. History provides the foundation, love for the city forms the emotional thread, and aspirations for development point the way forward.
On October 10, 1954, Hanoi was liberated after nine years of resistance against French colonial rule. That morning, army units entered the capital to take over its administration, welcomed by large crowds of local residents. The event marked a major turning point in Hanoi’s history and opened a new period in the capital’s development.
Since then, October 10 has become an important annual occasion in Hanoi, recalling the city’s historical traditions, patriotic spirit and journey of development.
