This year's carnival stands as a large-scale cultural and artistic event and plays a crucial role in stimulating tourism during the peak season in Quang Ninh. Held annually for the past 18 years, the carnival has become a signature tourism and cultural product of the province, promoting the image of Ha Long – a city of heritage, dynamism, and integration.

Meticulously and grandly staged, the event featured four main segments - a comprehensive art performance, a grand parade of artistic model vehicles, a modern DJ stage, and a spectacular high-altitude fireworks display.

The highlight of the night was a three-part artistic programme - Ha Long – Radiant Wonder of Heritage; Quang Ninh – Heritage within Heritage; and Global Integration – Pioneering Brilliance.

Nearly 1,000 performers, including artists, folk artisans, and international art troupes, came together to recreate a unique cultural space blending tradition with modernity.

A particularly captivating part of the show was the contemporary performance of Vietnam’s UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritages, such as Then singing of the Tay people, Quan ho folk songs, Hue royal court music, Southern folk music, and spiritual singing. These were creatively reimagined using 3D projection technology, modern sound and lighting effects, offering visually immersive experiences appealing to both young audiences and international visitors.

The final segment of the event reflected the spirit of global integration, featuring international art troupes, electronic dance music, parades of model vehicles, paragliding performances, and a fireworks display.

“Each performance is woven together like a story. It captures the emotional essence and artistic spirit of the biggest festivals in Vietnam and around the world, all converging in Caravan 2025. On the Carnival 2025 stage, we’ve introduced many innovations. The spirit of this event mirrors that of major global festivals, where vibrant cultures gather to present the most beautiful images of Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular. This is our way of bringing those images to friends, travelers, both domestic and international, through an immersive and celebratory experience,” said Hoang Cong Cuong, art director of the Ha Long Carnival 2025.

This year’s event was held in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s national reunification (April 30, 1975 - 2025), expressing historical gratitude and the forward-looking aspirations of this heroic mining province.

According to the Quang Ninh tourism authority, the Ha Long Carnival 2025 is a vital boost for the summer tourism season, drawing large numbers of domestic and international visitors. It continues to affirm Quang Ninh’s position as a leading cultural and festival tourism center, further elevating the image of a creative, globally-connected Ha Long on the world tourism map.
