VOV.VN - Two Vietnamese blockbuster films, Red Rain and Hijacked, will be screened free of charge at Autumn Fair 2025, offering audiences a chance to revisit record-breaking hits, interact with cast members, and experience a modern cinematic space in Hanoi.
Nearly a month after leaving theaters with a record gross of nearly VND714 billion, director Dang Thai Huyen’s blockbuster Red Rain will return to the screen in a special format via free public screenings as part of Autumn Fair 2025.
The event will take place from October 25 to November 4, 2025, at the National Exposition Centre in Dong Anh, Hanoi. Joining it is the action film Hijacked which recently surpassed VND250 billion in revenue, giving audiences the opportunity to experience two of the year’s most prominent Vietnamese films.
According to the Cinema Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Red Rain will be screened three times daily at 9:00 a.m., 1:45 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., while Hijacked will have two daily screenings at 11:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., running from October 26 to November 4, 2025.
Tickets can be collected directly at the ticket counter and Drinks & Food area within the cinema space, or booked online via the organizers’ updated system. Notably, several cast members from Red Rain are expected to appear at the cinema zone on the evening of October 25 during the fair’s opening ceremony to meet fans.
Premiering on August 22, 2025, Red Rain quickly became a box-office phenomenon, surpassing Mai by Tran Thanh to become the highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time. The film attracted 8.1 million viewers, delivering a powerful emotional impact through its tragic and heroic portrayal of soldiers, capturing bravery and resilience in wartime.
Meanwhile, Hijacked depicts intense aerial battles involving Vietnamese air force soldiers, honoring courage and an unyielding spirit in defending the nation’s skies. Both films have achieved not only commercial success but also critical recognition for their artistic, technical, and emotional value.
Autumn Fair 2025 is a national-level trade event hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Finance, and the Hanoi People’s Committee. One of its highlights is the “12 Cultural Industries Space”, aimed at celebrating and promoting the creativity of Vietnam’s cultural sectors.
Within this, the Cinema Space is designed as a miniature “panorama” of the industry, reflecting activities from production and distribution to creative products and related services. The screening area spans approximately 150 square meters, with seating for 100 people, and is equipped with standard-compliant sound and lighting systems to deliver an immersive viewing experience.
In addition to screenings, the cinema area will host 3D animation workshops, exhibition booths from six film production and distribution companies, and a film-themed check-in zone. These activities aim to spread the humanistic values and image of Vietnamese cinema to the public, while opening up opportunities for collaboration among artists, investors, and creative enterprises in the cultural industries.
With the combination of the year’s most successful Vietnamese films and a modern screening environment, Autumn Fair 2025 is expected to become a major cultural and entertainment highlight for Hanoi residents in late October.
Beyond celebrating the achievements of Vietnamese cinema, the event also reflects the government’s strategic direction to develop cultural industries into a key driver of the creative economy.
