First Cultures of World Festival attracts 48 embassies and int’l organisations
VOV.VN - Forty-eight embassies, international organisations and foreign cultural centres have registered to participate in the first Cultures of the World Festival, scheduled to take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi, on October 3-5.

The information was unveiled by the organisers - the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Hanoi People’s Committee - at a press conference in the capital city on September 26.
In his remarks, Le Hai Binh, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stressed that the first-ever festival is an important initiative to promote the role of culture in sustainable development. He noted that culture can serve as a bridge to help countries overcome global challenges such as conflicts, epidemics, and climate change, while fostering peace and prosperity for the international community.
According to the organisers, the festival will feature 45 national cultural spaces and 33 food stalls. In addition, 16 foreign art troupes will participate in the event, 12 units will join a book introduction event, and 20 countries will screen their films during the three-day event.
A wide range of activities will be organized, including a Hanoi world culture festival, a Hanoi international cuisine programme, a film screening, an international folk dance programme, a fine arts programme, an Ao Dai Festival, and an international book fair, among others.
The festival is expected to become an annual international cultural diplomatic event in Hanoi in the near future, connect countries worldwide, promote people-to-people exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community. At the same time, it reaffirms the vital role of culture in advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and in fostering peace and prosperity worldwide.
