First ASEAN+3 Song Contest contestants arrive in Ha Long city
VOV.VN - The first contestants and members of the judging panel involved in the ASEAN+3 Song Contest arrived in Ha Long city on July 25 in the build up to the regional event which will be hosted by the national broadcaster Voice of Vietnam (VOV).
The delegation representing the Philippines at the competition consists of two contestants, Tim Pavino and Aicelle Santos, along with judge Alfred Allan D.Samonte. The trio experience a long-hour flight from the Philippines to Vietnam before traveling nearly 200km from Hanoi to Quang Ninh province. |
Aicelle Santos is a renowned pop and jazz singer, songwriter, pianist, and actress. A household name in her own country, she is best known as the “First Undefeated Pinoy Pop Superstar.” |
Singer Tim Pavino expresses positive feelings for Ha Long bay, adding that he is impressed by the beauty of the area before mentioning how excited he feels to be taking part in the song contest. The singer has prepared two songs for the semi-final and final nights and is expected to make a good impression on viewers. |
Alfred Allan D.Samonte is to serve as a judge for the ASEAN+3 Song Contest alongside representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, and the host nation, Vietnam. |
VOV is to host both the semi-final and final rounds of the ASEAN+3 Song Contest with the events scheduled to take place in Ha Long city in the northern province of Quang Ninh from July 26-29. The judges have now selected the best 22 contestants from ASEAN member states who will progress to the semi-finals and finals. |
Both contestants and judges have received great support from organisers. The final night of the competition is due to be held in Ha Long city at 8 pm on July 28. |
