According to the provincial administration, preparations for the festival are currently being finalised, with the event expected to feature eight major programmes and activities spread across multiple locations in the province.

Unlike previous editions centred mainly around Lam Vien Square in Da Lat, the 2026 festival will extend to broader urban areas, including Phan Thiet (of former Binh Thuan province) and Gia Nghia (of former Dak Nong province), following recent administrative adjustments in the province.

Provincial officials said the expansion reflects a longer-term vision of transforming the festival from a seasonal tourism event into a province-wide cultural and tourism identity integrated into daily life.

Under the proposed model, flower spaces are expected to extend into residential neighborhoods and major streets with the orientation that “every home has flowers, every road has flowers.”

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the main festival activities are expected to take place in December 2026 and continue into early 2027, while preparations are already underway to develop thematic flower routes across the province.

Each route is expected to feature a signature flower species, while government offices, public institutions and residential communities are being encouraged to select flowers and ornamental plants suited to local landscapes.

Authorities also plan to expand cooperation with provinces and cities nationwide through flower exhibitions and cultural exchange activities during the festival period.

First held in 2005, the Da Lat Flower Festival has developed into an important cultural and tourist festival of Lam Dong province. It not only honours flowers and flower growers throughout the locality, but also provides an opportunity to promote investment, trade, and tourism in the region.

The 2026 edition, marking the festival’s 11th installment, is expected to further reinforce Da Lat’s reputation as Vietnam’s “city of flowers” while supporting the province’s long-term strategy of developing a sustainable “year-round flower festival” model.

Da Lat was officially recognised by the Prime Minister as A Flower Festival City of Vietnam in 2012. In 2022, the locality was named among the world’s 10 best destinations to admire flowers by global travelers, according to the online travel platform Booking.com.

In 2024, the Asia Festival City Awards honoured the Da Lat Flower Festival as the Best Flower and Garden Festival, placing Da Lat among the top five most impressive festival cities of Asia.

At the Global Festival Summit 2025 in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea, apart from the “ASIA Flower and Garden Festival of 2025” and “ASIA Pinnacle” awards, the Central Highlands city was honoured with the "Best Eco-Friendly Festival" award by the International Festivals & Events Association of Asia (IFEA ASIA).
