Children from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam join cultural exchange

VOV.VN - Around 246 children and youth leaders from three countries of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam (CLV) took part in a cultural exchange program in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of August 2 as part of the summer camp for children from the three countries.

Special art performances presented by the kids featured national cultural traditions and contributed to fostering friendship and solidarity among the three countries.

At the event, HCM City children presented 2,000 notebooks and VND50 million to children in Attapeu, who are victims of the recent floods caused by the Sepien-Senamnoi hydropower dam collapse. The gift will help Attapeu children prepare for the upcoming new school year.

Earlier, members of the three delegations were received by HCM City leaders.

Vo Thi Dung, vice secretary of the municipal Party Committee, said she hoped that the camp offers an opportunity to children to gain more experiences and make new friends towards promoting cultural exchanges among the three countries.

Since the first summer camp of this type in 2010, the event has become a traditional exchange among children of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
