UNIDO representative in Vietnam Patrick Gilabert said the seminar is part of the small-and medium-sized enterprise development project funded by the Italian Government.
The project aims to develop international business partnerships between the two countries to carry out trade, production and technical cooperation activities.
It has provided technical assistance for nearly 80 garment, footwear and timber product businesses in Vietnam, and conducted around 40 training courses and 10 fact-finding tours to Italy for Vietnamese businesses.
Representatives from agencies, organizations and associations from the two countries introduced foreign investors to Vietnam’s economy and opportunities.
Foreign direct investment in the production sector has increased considerably thanks to the country’s socio-economic stability, improvement in legal and tax regulations, and cheap labour costs.
During their stay, 40 Italian businesses will meet with Vietnamese partners to seek investment opportunities and sign cooperative agreements.
