At their meeting in Hanoi on June 5, the guest briefed the Vietnamese top legislator on his meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, saying that both sides compared notes on cooperation in areas reached during the Vietnam visit by President Milos Zeman in June 2017.
The Czech Republic backs Vietnam’s bid for a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure as well as the signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), he said, adding that his country desires to cooperate with Vietnam in automobile manufacturing and healthcare.
The Czech Republic is making visa granting effort for Vietnamese students who want to study and work in the country. In return, the Czech Republic also wants Vietnam to exempt visas for Czech citizens visiting Vietnam, he said.
Chairwoman Ngan told her guest that Vietnam aims to foster relations with traditional friends in central and eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic.
Earlier, the Czech delegation had a working session with the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth,Adolescents and Children.
