Information regarding the measures was announced by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) during a recent meeting discussing the preparation work and measures being taken to ensure the security of fans and those in attendance ahead of the match.
The meeting was attended by both VFF officials and representatives from the General Department of Sports, Physical Training and the National Sports Complex, along with public security units in Hanoi.
The organising board noted that their main focus will be on ensuring security and safety at the venue for the upcoming fixture. Most notably, any violators who risk the safety of others by bringing or burning flares and firecrackers at the stadium will face harsh punishments.
Security units will also implement remote prevention measures in the fight against extremists and those who supply or use weapons, firecrackers, or flares.
In order to ensure security, the organizing board will open the stadium’s gates for football fans at 16:00, and again 15 minutes before the final whistle.
Fans are also being encouraged to arrive at the stadium early in a bid to reduce traffic congestion and to make sure the event runs smoothly.
The upcoming tie between Vietnam and Malaysia is scheduled to take place at 20:00 on October 10.
