Dr Thach stated that at present the hospital is treating a total of 15 cases involving the COVID-19, five of which have shown the initial stages of the virus, three cases which have displayed symptoms of coughing and a mild fever, while an additional two cases are suffering from severe complications, including shortness of breath.

The two patients in serious condition include a 69-year old British male and a 61-year old Vietnamese female, both of whom have previous underlying diseases such as diabetes and are in an age demographic that is vulnerable to the COVID-19, said Dr Thach.

He added that following the health conditions of the two patients getting worse, the hospital’s doctors moved to place the pair under strict monitoring with the health status of the two patients being a concern of the medical centre’s leading doctors.

At present, the hospital has arranged isolation zones with additional medical equipment being provided to better treat each of the COVID-19 cases.
