Addressing a ceremony to mark VOV's 73rd anniversary on September 7, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hailed contributions by Liberation Radio Station’s journalists, reporters and editors during the resistance
He said the Vietnamese Party, State, and people have always acknowledged contributions of the Liberation Radio Station during the resistance war against the US invaders. The station’s title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” first belongs to 25 war martyrs/reporters who died protecting the station’s broadcasts. This title is also a tribute to more than 600 cadres, reporters, editors, technicians, and artists working for the Liberation Radio station in different years.
PM Phuc asked VOV to develop into a united, strong and pure team, and to make greater efforts to become the leading multimedia agency in Vietnam, especially during the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
It’s necessary for VOV to embrace thorough reform to expeditiously apply advanced technologies in producing modern broadcasts to satisfy people and businesses, thus increasing demand and fulfilling its political tasks, the Government leader said. VOV reporters and editors are encouraged to play a vanguard role on the communications front to better reflect the social realities and daily life issues, thus contributing to national construction and defense, he added.
