The central province of Quang Tri on March 7 hosted a get-together for female war veterans and outstanding entrepreneurs. Delegates reviewed Vietnamese women’s fine traditions of heroism, determination, faithfulness, and resourcefulness and pledged to further contribute to local and national socioeconomic development.
Meanwhile, Binh Dinh provincial Women’s Union held a meeting for local female leaders past and present, and announced the establishment of Binh Dinh province’s Club of Female Intellectuals.
The same day, the Dak Lak provincial Women’s Union launched a program called “Love Connection and Sharing” for local disadvantaged women.
As many as 80 gift sets were presented to single, disabled women as well as those with Agent Orange/Dioxin. On the occasion, they were also provided with free medical check-ups and medicines.
Earlier on March 6, the Women’s Union of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho launched the Women Startup Day on March 6 to mark the event and encourage the women to start businesses.
The Women Startup Day will hold a series of programs to support the women’s startups between 2018 and 2025 as they are encountering a number of barriers in skills, resources and ability to use cutting-edge technology.
