HCM City field hospital isolates eight people from epidemic areas in China

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Field Hospital in Cu Chi district have moved to isolate eight people who recently returned from novel coronavirus (COVID19) hit areas in China, including one pregnant woman.

Dr. Le Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, said that the eight people who had flown back to the country from China, transiting at Bangkok airport en route, had all been put into quarantine areas upon their arrival back in the nation.

Currently, none of the group have displayed any symptoms of acute respiratory infection, although they are all being closely monitored and are being required to don medical masks.

Following the quarantine of the group, the afternoon of February 14 saw Tu Du Hospital move to provide professional assistance whilst strictly monitoring the health status of the pregnant woman.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, has asked medical staff at the field hospital to tighten their supervision whilst requesting that patients follow prevention measures to combat the epidemic.

As of 4 pm on February 13, HCM City reported a total of three positive cases of COVID19. At present, there are no longer any suspected cases of infection in the city following 31 suspected cases testing negative for the COVID 19.
