Of 251 confirmed cases, 156 returned from abroad, accounting for 62.6%, and 95 were identified as secondary infections. The total number of people in quarantine is 74,626.
According to a report released by the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, four more patients fully recovered from the disease on April 8, including one from Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, three from Can Gio Hospital also in Ho Chi Minh City, thus raising the nation's total tally of recoveries to 126.
In addition, 42 cases have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once to twice.
Earlier on April 8 morning, the Ministry of Health also confirmed two more cases testing positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), including one in Hanoi and the other in the northern province of Ha Nam.
The National Steering Committee has asked every citizen to remain vigilant and continue to consistently follow epidemic preventive measures set out by the Ministry of Health as well as competent agencies.
